The Plug is a mom and pop coffee shop, located in the heart of Washington Heights, Manhattan in New York City. Born from the aftermath of The Great Pandemic of 2020, The Plug was conceived with the idea that family, community, hard work, and a quality product are still things that matter. We want to greet you by name, hear how your day has been, and serve you the best coffee we possibly can.
The Plug was founded by Ben and Abbie Stovall and opened for business on West 167th Street in January of 2022. Abbie is a lifelong resident of Washington Heights, growing up on 185th and Audubon, and attending George Washington High School. Ben moved to NYC from Oklahoma in 1999 after serving in the USMC, and has lived in Washington Heights, and Inwood since 2005. Ben, Abbie, and their daughter, Marzella, love uptown Manhattan and have committed themselves to providing a safe, all inclusive space where the service, coffee, and vibes are all top shelf.
